The Top 10 Reasons For Ordering Blood Test From Home

Why would you guess about your health when you can test and find out? It’s your health—own it. Do it today!

Here are ten reasons why it can be beneficial:

1. Increased Awareness of Health

Regular testing can provide insights into your body’s functioning, helping you detect potential health issues early, even before symptoms appear. Unfortunately, healthcare today focuses on the treatment of disease after it has occurred, not before it occurs.

2. Convenience

You can order tests at your own pace and schedule, avoiding the delays often associated with waiting for doctor appointments. When you order your own lab test, you can get tests when you want them. Ordering your own lab tests on drclintsexton.com/ is much easier than you might think.

3. Affordable and Transparent Costs

Direct-to-consumer lab testing services often provide upfront pricing, which is more affordable than going through traditional healthcare routes. One reason doctor’s may be hesitant to order some blood tests is because the health insurance companies may not be willing to pay for them. If this happens, you are going to get a big bill. The fee you will be charged is often much, much more than you would have paid if you ordered and paid for it yourself.

4. Personalized Health Monitoring

If you have specific health goals, such as optimizing fitness, nutrition, or managing a chronic condition, blood tests can provide data to guide your decisions. When you have more information about what is happening in your body, you can make better choices to support your health and wellbeing.

5. Early Detection of Health Problems

Many conditions, such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, or nutrient deficiencies, can be detected early through blood tests, allowing for prompt intervention. If you don’t have the right tests done, you can miss problems that are brewing under the surface.

Blood sugar is great example. Most people only get a glucose test, and this is a very limited view of your blood sugar regulation. By the time the glucose test goes out of range, you will have had a blood sugar problem for a very long time that has really gotten out of control. Another test called the Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) provides more inflammation and reflects your average blood sugar over the past 100-120 days and can be used to identify prediabetes or diabetes. Another blood sugar related problem called insulin resistance is identified by testing your fasting glucose and fasting insulin and then using the results to calculate your HOMA-IR (Homeostasis Model Assessment-estimated Insulin Resistance).

You can have a normal glucose test but still be prediabetic and or suffer from insulin resistance. This is why the right tests need to be done.

6. Better Communication with Healthcare Providers

Bringing lab results to your healthcare provider can streamline conversations and facilitate faster diagnosis or treatment plans. Many doctors might be reluctant to order the tests you want. This may be due to concerns about tests being rejected by health insurance, or the doctor may not be familiar with the test and its relevance to your health. There is a big difference between seeing a test is out of range and knowing what caused it and how to change it, especially without relying on medications.

7. Empowerment Through Knowledge

Understanding your lab results can help you take control of your health and make informed decisions about lifestyle changes or treatments. For example, how would you know how inflamed your body is if you have not tested it? Inflammation in the body is not always painful; you can be inflamed and not even know it. Inflammation is the one thing that is common to all chronic diseases and illnesses. Do you know what your level of hs-CRP is?

A good test for inflammation is the hs-CRP (hs stands for high sensitivity). Studies have shown that an elevated hs-CRP level may be predictive of a myocardial infarction, stroke, peripheral vascular disease, and sudden cardiac death. What is your level of inflammation?

8. Flexibility for Your Specific Needs

You can choose tests that align with your personal concerns, such as hormone levels, cholesterol, or vitamin deficiencies, without needing a doctor’s approval. There are many blood tests available that can provide a much more detailed picture of your health than you would otherwise have access to. The ability to order the tests you want and get the results you need to be aware will make a tremendous difference in your journey to a healthier you.

9. Privacy and Confidentiality

Direct lab testing services prioritize your privacy, allowing you to access your results without involving third parties unless you choose to. You choose who to share your results with. You don’t have to share your results with anyone you don’t want to. However, I recommend that you share your results with your healthcare provider.

If you don’t feel comfortable sharing your results with your doctor, then maybe, just maybe, you should find a doctor your do feel comfortable sharing your results with…just saying… I say this because I believe the ideal doctor patient relationship is a partnership. That means that both of you, together, will determine what is important, what is not, and what actions should be taken. Its your body and your health so it’s ultimately, always, your choice.

10. Support Preventative Health

Regular blood tests can help you track trends in your health over time, encouraging preventative measures to maintain or improve your well-being. This is important because tracking trends can help you clearly see if you are on the right track or not. If it can’t be measured, then it is very difficult, if not impossible, to manage.
